On August 1, we will be welcoming Beth Putney as the inaugural O'Grady Resident for Theology and Culture. In 2021, the Foundation of San Marino Community Church established the O'Grady Fund for Theology and Culture to honor the ministry of Rev. Jeff and Lynn O'Grady. One of the primary purposes of the fund was to establish a 2-year residency program for the church. This program is overseen by Rev. Dr. Tom Tewell and Rev. Jessica Vaughan Lower, and consists of seven core units centering on innovation and entrepreneurial leadership in church ministry.

Beth is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, and holds a Master of Divinity and a Master of Christian Education and Formation with a specialization in Ministry with Young People and a Certificate in Theology, Women, and Gender from Princeton Theological Seminary.

The 2022 recipient of the Covin Award in Youth Ministry, Beth was also involved in several grant initiatives at the seminary pertaining to innovation in the church. She served as a research assistant to Dr. Kenda Dean (Professor of Youth, Christ, and Culture at Princeton Seminary), and was selected to author the companion workbook for Dr. Dean's most recent book. Please welcome her warmly when you see her!
