EAster at san marino community church

We welcome you to join us during this Lenten and Easter season! See all of our seasonal offerings listed below.

  • Redeming power: a lenten sermon series

    practicing a power-filled faith

It's said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. And yet, humanity was created in the image of an all-powerful God who gifted us with power in God's name. How can Christians reclaim the gift of power - exercising it as God created us to - without becoming corrupted by it? Join us this Lenten season to explore how we can redeem our God-given power to bring about Christ's transforming power in a complicated world.

  • prayer poetry power | a hybrid lenten reflection

    thursdays during lent | 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Join us during Lent for an hour of guided reflections using esteemed author Marilyn McEntyre's book When Poets Pray (copies of the book are available in the Church Office). Explore how poetry and prayer are closely related, and how the impulse of poetry is rooted in the power of observation, giving voice to what is seen and felt. No need to be a poet, or even an experienced pray-er. Appetites for understanding what the Holy Spirit has done and is doing among us are welcome. Join fellow spiritual companions as we journey through Lent.

The author herself, Marilyn McEntyre, will be joining us as the leader of the class on Thursday, March 16.
