adult ministries: Events & opportunities

We offer a wide range of weekly activities for our community to connect in fellowship, in addition to larger special events. All are welcome to participate. We hope you'll join us!

    May 15 & 22 | 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. | Fellowship Hall

Explore the role that emotions play when interacting with other people. Your EQ (Emotional Intelligence) is your ability to recognize and understand emotions and your skill at using this awareness to manage yourself and your relationship with others. Those who are able to increase their EQ have a distinct advantage both professionally and personally in a number of areas including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management.  This is a two-part workshop for individuals or couples...Please buy your book (“Emotional Intelligence 2.0” by Travis Bradberry) online or at the church office.  Note: It is strongly recommended each participant use their own book. During the first lesson, each person will use their tablet or smartphone to complete an individual assessment online - using a custom passcode found in each book.

    This workshop is full!

“This study has been a tremendous blessing to us! Jen Wilkin deals with the text honestly and helps us engage meaningfully. We have a group comprised of almost-life-long believers and newer believers and both were able to glean from this study and engage with the text in new ways. It kept us all engaged and facilitated some wonderful conversation!”

    SUNDAYS | March 6 - April 10 | 4:00-5:30 P.M.

    Fellowship Hall

If a friend asked you to discuss the content of your Christian faith, how would you respond? Some argue that today Christians are being formed not in church but by cable television and social media. Dr. Ron White, SMCC Scholar in Residence, will lead an exploration of the ten creeds and confessions--some of them written recently--in our Presbyterian Book of Confessions. Includes small group discussions.

You may participate remotely via Zoom. Questions?
