More about Worship

Children's Sunday School: When children and their parents attend worship together they can grow stronger in their faith. We invite children K-5th grades to Time with Children in the 9:00 am Traditional service in the Sanctuary, around 9:15am they are dismissed from worship and led to Sunday School. Here they experience their own developmentally appropriate learning time in our upstairs classrooms. Preschool Sunday School, toddlers and twos, and nursery care kids can be dropped off before worship begins (as early as 7:30 am) in the lower Courtyard. More about Children's Ministries

Fellowship Time: After 9:00 am worship the whole congregation is welcome to meet in the courtyard for 30 minutes of fellowship. While we provide free donuts and coffee during this time, on occasion events are held in the courtyard such as a Ministry Fair, Mission Market, or sign-ups for upcoming events. More about Ministries

Students: Students are invited to experience a worship service of their choice.  We encourage participation in various serving opportunities from greeting, tech support, music, setting up for events, or Sunday school shepherding or teaching. More about Student Ministries

Adult Education: At 10:30 am you are invited to attend one of our Adult Education classes which can include a Pastor's Bible Study, Small Group or Class on a specific topic. More about Adult Education

a note from the pastor

San Marino Community Church welcomes individuals and families who seek a better connection with what God is doing in their lives and in the world. Christian faith is a shared experience, as well as a personal one. We rely upon each other to deepen our experience, sharpen our focus, and extend the impact of our service. Our vision is to live Christ’s Great Commandment, “To love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.”

San Marino Community Church is becoming a multi-generational, multi-cultural community of the future. Authentic continuity with the past coupled with joyful worship and generous service in the present will set an example for future generations to be able to “sing a new song unto the Lord.” We worship in the tradition of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. with both heart and mind. Our community of 1,100 members plus many visitors and friends join together in worship, learning, and service. There are three distinct worship experiences offered each Sunday so everyone in the family can find the worship experience that best suits their style.

You will find helpful information about the many ministries of the church on this website. Our Mission Statement will introduce you to the congregation’s commitments and convictions. If you want to experience vibrant faith in Jesus Christ with others with whom you can share life, faith, worship and service, consider this your invitation to visit the San Marino Community Church and become part of the family at SMCC.

Faithfully yours,

Rev. Jeffrey V. O’Grady
