  • INDIA transforming journey November 2019

Info Meeting: Sunday, February 17 at 10:30, CHurch Lounge

SMCC has a long history of sending members and staff to represent the church in mission around the world. Why are trips important?

    • To strengthen relationships with mission partners
    • To learn in a way only immersion teaches
    • To deepen participants’ faith with a transformative experience
    • To witness God’s work in a different culture and a different language

This coming year, a group will go to India. In every rural village in India, there are children who get left behind. That’s  when Covenant Children’s Homes steps in. CCH selects well-established church communities and places five to ten orphaned or abandoned local children in the church to be raised by the pastor, his family, and the larger church community. The purpose of a visit to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, India will be to witness God in action – in the growing lives of these children and the growing ministry of Covenant Children’s Homes. Interaction with the children will be of primary importance as they learn English in
their schooling – basic conversational English is the cornerstone to their  professional future. All projects will be alongside and in conjunction with
indigenous staff and leadership of Covenant Children’s Homes and tailored
to the strengths and preferences of the GO team.
Please consider this bold yet rewarding journey to a land unlike any other.

The next information meeting will be held Sunday, February 17 at 10:30
    am in Church Lounge.

  • Ton of Food Campaign

    Saturday, May 5, 2019

The day was drawing to a close, and the twelve came to him and said, “Send the crowd away, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside, to lodge and get provisions; for we are here in a deserted place.” But Jesus said to them, “You give them something to eat.” – Luke 9:12 (NRSV)

When asked how to eradicate hunger from the world Mother Teresa responded with one word, “share.” It sounds so simple and actually it is. Every spring San Marino Community Church’s Board of Deacons share by sending a truck carrying a Ton of Food to the Food Bank at sister church Iglesia De la Comunidad. You can participate by picking up a grocery bag from the Information Center, the church office, Deacon table (or use your own). Fill it with nonperishable food items. Return it to the church office.
