Middle School MINISTRIES

MIDDLE SCHOOL GROUP  - Begins September 9

Sundays 6:00 - 7:30 pm, Westminster Hall

Meets weekly during the school year, for our students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. We make room for fellowship Sunday nights throughout the school year. We kick it off with some food, awesome games, and then we end the evening studying some scripture, and how it applies to our lives and to the world. We encourage students to bring $5 on Sundays to cover snacks and other expenses. Contact Sophia Alecci for updates.

High School MINISTRIES

HIGH SCHOOL GROUP - Begins September 5

Wednesdays 7:00 pm -8:15 pm, Westminster Hall

Wednesday nights throughout the school year, we meet for one hour of fellowship and bible study. We know high school isn't always the easiest time, and students are busy which is why we have created this space so they can stop, breathe, and grow in their faith.  Contact Sophia Alecci for updates

CONFIRMATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS - Begins October 7

October - April, Sundays at 10:30 am, Westminster Hall

Our confirmation class is primarily designed for high school freshman, but older students are more than welcome to join! We explore Christianity, and address challenging questions like: who is God? What is the Church? Where did the Church come from?  How do we live a life of purpose?

Spending time together at these weekly sessions helps to build relationships and give students the tools they need to grow into adulthood. They participate in a weekend retreat, sit in on a Pastor Panel, go on a field trip, and at the end of the class create their Statement of Faith.

Confirmation is the process of a student becoming a member of the church,  though membership is not required, we ask that each student seriously considers taking the next step in joining their community of faith.  Confirmands will be presented to the congregation at the end of class, when they can celebrate their full membership into the church.

HIGH SCHOOL MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

We plan local, regional, and international trips every year.  Last year, students flew to Seattle to serve the homeless community in King County. They assisted those in need, experiencing their faith in action. This a great opportunity for students to travel outside their comfort zone, and see the church in action.  Please stay in touch with Student Ministries for updates. Adult leaders and parents are invited to participate.

For all students

SMCC Prayer Walk for SM Schools, August 10th, 6:30 pm, Meet at Carver or Valentine Schools

With the coming school year students are anticipating their advancement to a new grade level. Parents alike are preparing for a new school year of challenges, surprises, and accomplishments for their children. San Marino Community Church wants our school community to know that our prayers are with students and their families. We especially pray for safety both physically, and mentally, and for strength and support in one another. Parents, town leaders and church leaders of SMCC invite you to join them in a “Prayer Walk” around San Marino School campuses, on Friday, August 10th. We invite you to meet in front of Carver Elementary at 6:30 PM, and Valentine School at 6:30 PM – it’s your choice. Both groups then drive to meet at Huntington Middle School at 7:00PM. Then we all meet at SMHS by 7:30PM, our final destination.

We hope you join us, as a community focused on something greater than ourselves, and help to deliver prayers that bring strength from a higher power. Help make 2018-2019 a successful and safe school year for the community of San Marino.
