    9:15 am Children’s Spiritual Formation (K - 5th grade) Children in worship are dismissed to Sunday school. Parents pick up children in upper classrooms. Younger children meet in the lower courtyard, K-5th graders are dismissed from worship to the upstairs classrooms

    An after school program kindergarten through 5th grade!  We will welcome K-2nd graders in our younger group and 3rd - 5th graders learning about God, and how to follow their faith journey through age-appropriate play, art and fellowship. Registration and Information

    Tuesdays, After school - 5:15 pm, Upstairs Classrooms

    Creative Lab is a spiritually-based creative program (music, art, theater, and free play) for kids K-5th in the context of a Christian worldview.  The program includes Music and Art, with optional electives for those who choose to stay longer of Free-Play (younger kids) and Theater Activities

    (older kids and mature younger elementary). The kids will have several opportunities to participate in both Traditional and Contemporary worship, a Winter and Spring visitation to sing at Monte Vista Grove Homes, and a final Showcase Performance and Art Show in the Spring, crafted around theme and kids’ interests. Your child is registered for the semester once you:

    Welcome to Rocky Railway VBS - the summer event that puts kids on track for trusting Jesus! At Rocky Railway, kids (Pre-school through 5th grade) explore how Jesus' power can pull us through when life feels like a valley or a mountain top. Through interactive storytelling, games, arts & crafts, music, and more, our team will help you roll along the railway with a week full of faith discoveries, and lessons about Jesus' love and power. Please add Sunday, August 2, to your calendar when we celebrate our VBS week together!.


    Early Bird $75 March 1- April 13

    Regular Registration $85 April 14- June 1

    Late Registration $95 June 2-July 20th

    All Preschooler-aged (4 years or older) children Registration $100

    NOTE: In order to prepare in providing the best possible VBS experience and care for your child, our registration deadline is Monday, July 20 at 5:00 pm. After this date, the registration site will be closed, and we will not accept any walk-ins. Thank you for your cooperation.

    To ensure an organized, stimulating, and safe environment we need committed, and helpful hands. We are recruiting adult leaders (as well as mature youth leaders) now!   • 4th & 5th Graders - BecomING an acolyte!

    Once a month in the 9:00 am traditional Worship Service

    Fourth and Fifth graders serve as acolytes assisting once a month in the 9:00 am Sunday worship service as candle lighters in the Sanctuary. All interested children are encouraged to sign up. This is a great opportunity for your child to be a leader in their faith community and to begin to discover how they are called and gifted for Christian service. Please fill out a Participation Form at the top of this page.

  • Christmas Eve nativity pageant

    Sunday, December 24th at 4:00 PM, sanctuary

    At the 4:00 pm Nativity Pageant/Christmas Eve Service, kids Pre-School age and older can participate in telling the story of Christmas. During the month of December 5th grade children are cast and rehearse for the re-enactment of Jesus' birth. Younger kids can play the part of angels and shepherds with no prior rehearsal. Participants go to the Multipurpose Room upstairs at 3:40 to receive costumes and instructions prior to service.  Contact Family Ministries


(10:00 - 11:00, during the summer schedule, memorial day through labor day weekend)

At San Marino Community Church we love children! On Sundays, and everyday, we seek to provide high quality care and to encourage children in their faith. We nurture a love for God's Word and a delight in worship. Interactive, engaging Sunday  classes are at the heart of our ministry. Ages Kindergarten-5th Grade will attend worship with their parents then are dismissed to Sunday School. To register please fill out a 2020-2021 Participation Form.  (Note: If you are attending for the first time, feel free to pick up a form on Sunday at the information booth.)


Drop-Off 9:00 am in the Lower Courtyard where ages 3 to 5 years learn the stories of their faith through interactive storytelling. (10:00 am during summer schedule, Memorial through Labor Day)

After "Time with Children" in the Traditional 9:00 am worship service, kids are released to the following locations:

  • Kindergartners meet upstairs at the Boardwalk where they learn Bible stories through multi-sensory activities
  • 1st & 2nd Graders meet in the Tree House where they learn scripture through Godly Play and theme-related activities
  • 3rd Graders meet in the Headquarters where they will dig into their very own Bible and notebook
  • 4th & 5th Graders meet in the Clubhouse where they will challenge themselves with the meaning of faith in and out of church

Childcare available @ 7:30 am - Noon in the Lower Courtyard (8:30 during summer schedule)

Infant-18 months are cared for by our loving and dedicated nursery staff.Toddlers up to 3-years-old enjoy interactive nursery childcare, learning about their faith through song and story.  It is here that we begin to live our our baptismal promises to these infants to raise them in the faith.

Special Children's Program Sundays, 10:00 am - Noon (11:00 am during summer schedule)

A special children’s program for all ages is also offered in the Lower Courtyard during Fellowship Time and adult classes.
