  • Bereavement SEminar

Sunday, January 26, 4:00 pm, Fellowship Hall

“From Hurting to Healed: Bereavement and Grief”, info, discussion and support with guest presenter Katrin Koutassevitch

Death is a part of every person’s life. We are mortal and so is everyone around us. But when we experience this loss it feels like anything but natural. We find ourselves dazed and disoriented, quite often at a loss at how to move forward or help those around us.

Please join us for an afternoon of information, discussion and support as we explore the anatomy of grief and how we can work with it in our own lives as well as support others as they grieve.

This seminar is for you if you . . .

    • Are grieving a personal loss
    • Know someone who has experienced loss and would like tools on how to be with them
    • Are experiencing “anticipatory grief” as your loved one suffers with a terminal or irreversible illness
    • Are looking for tools to recognize a child’s grief
    • Are looking for ways to talk with your child about death

  • MONDAY night bible study

    6:00 - 7:30 pm, church lounge

Monday Bible Study is a group that is open to all women, led by Pastor Jan Cook. We welcome you to join us on Monday evenings for engaging discussion, prayer, lots of laughter, friendship and quite often decadent snacking!

We are currently concluding our study of “Holy Envy, Finding God in the Faith of Others”.

Starting Feb. 3 we will begin studying the Book of Hebrews. Eugene Peterson (The Message Commentary) says, “…too much religion is a bad thing. We can’t get too much of God, can’t get too much faith and obedience, can’t get too much love and worship. But religion – the well-intentioned efforts we make to ‘get it all together’ for God -- can get in the way of what God is doing for us. That’s when it’s time to read and pray our way through the sermon we call Hebrews, written for ‘too religious’ Christians.”
